Labiance Primary school learner wins the GetAhead prize!

Calista Cloete, from Labiance Primary is the winner of our quarterly Apple IPod competition.
We asked Calista some questions…
Calista, do you use your GetAhead program at home?
| “Yes”

What do you like to do?
| “Dance”

What do you want to become one day?
| “A dance instructor and a farmer, because I love animals and want them to live with me on the farm.”

Do you like to listen to music?
| “Yes”

Will you use the iPod for music or for photos?
| “For both”

Next year Calista will go to Settlers High School

At last all the names of the teachers that sold the most at their school, classes that sold 6 and more and learners that bought GetAhead via the GetAhead School Project from the participating 44 third term schools were entered into the computer.

There was a drum roll… the EvaluNet team stood by and the draw commenced.

The Class Party is won by Mr Tayob Gr 5 class. They are from PEMPS in Polokwane.

Me Mohale from Sentinel Primary in Qwa Qwa is the lucky winner of the R1000 Woolworths Gift Voucher for the teacher that sold the most in his/ her school.

AND the big one…

Jaco Gouws a grade 3 learner from Laer Volkskool in Graff Reinet wins the iPod!

Did you want to win the iPod?

Yes! I always wanted an iPod.

Did you think you would win the iPod when your parents bought you GetAhead?

Out of all the children I didn’t think that I’d be the winner.

Do you like GetAhead and is it helping you with your schoolwork?

Yes it is helping me. It has the same maths sums that we do at school.

Do you have any hobbies?

I like playing soccer and Play Station.

What do you want to become when you grow up?

A scientist.

On receiving his prize, Timothy said: “I’m grateful to EvaluNet for this wonderful prize. I enjoy maths and this programme will help me work harder in maths and I will be able to produce better results. I have heard that high school teachers don’t always explain as carefully as primary school teachers, so if this happens at least I will have my GetAhead software as a back-up plan. Thank you very much EvaluNet!”

MySchool partners with EvaluNet

MySchool, South Africa’s biggest community support and fundraising programme, has recently committed to a partnership with EvaluNet. Soon the GetAhead range of educational software will be made available to MySchool supporters throughout South Africa at an exclusive discount, plus it will benefit the MySchool community programme.

This partnership will assist EvaluNet in distributing its educational software to more school children than ever before. With the help of MySchool, EvaluNet will also be doing projects to assist children in under-resourced areas to have access to a great learning tool, thus benefitting more communities in need.

GetAhead is educational software that children use at home to help learn and revise their schoolwork.
